Sorry if this is a rerun, stupid search function wasn't working for me! __________________________ Crap...did you leave the front porch light on? zoomable here: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0011/earthlights_dmsp_big.jpg and finally the story behind it: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap001127.html
There's something wrong with that - why would the entire world have their lights on at the same time with so many different time zones?
Yes - as Rumsfeld said you look at South Korea and you see something vibrant - you look at North Korea and you see a big black void. I think he said something like that!
They're real pictures. The global one at night is a couple of years old by now so it's probably a little bit outdated. The one of North and South Korea is amazing. What a difference one's form of government makes!
The link at the bottom which I posted explains it...silly countryboy! Nasa has been known to publish many fakes that's wild! they can either see in the dark or will be shot on sight if they're not in bed by 'lights out'
I knew you were teasing that's why I didn't ask you to remove your head from a certain crevasse j/k I thought you were serious and so didn't pippy long posting right behind you that chimed in the light is the lone 24 hour Wal-mart in the capital city
go turn your flashlight on and add one more light to the skyline of NYC ________________________ and you know, Europe looks like a lizard! anyone else see it?
Those with the most lights are probably the most developed (commercially) and populated places on earth.
In the first pic they shown China in Dark and that is no way possible that is the shining country at the moment, Yes with north korea it can happen.
ya' think? check your map Gunga Din, it shows most of China being lit whereas the western portion unlit...but isn't the western block all rural anyway?? Mongolia is the other mostly non-lit chunk you see. besides, China can't be dark, they are too busy building 98.99% of all American toys and pirating billions of $ worth of SW, movies, CD's, etc.
