Have you heard about Nargis Cyclone? Fews days ago the cyclone hit Burma. The official death body found was 22,000 and over 41,000 still missing. Expert expecting the victims will exceed around 100,000 peoples. Pray God to save them.

What makes it so bad is that their government isn't doing anything and they won't let people come in and help - they should be shot!

I do not know why the government was too afraid of outsiders. It seems like they have many gold mine inside that do not want others to know...;)

I have sky news streaming all day and i tell you it reall get me bad, talk about f*cked up or what. Not letting aid in is bad enough :( and then when it does get in they IMPOUND IT!!! four flights have now been impounded by the bumease authorities... i tell you something sick aint the word for it, it is OUTRAGEOUS.

What gets me even madder is the UN Security Council are doing FA to resolve this situation, yeah Taiwan have pleaded with burma to let the aid through but whats that, words and no action!

The death toll is going to be MUCH MUCH higher than 100K, damn you seen the video reports coming out of that place, dead bodies floating down the river and laying stiff in the fields it aint right, it just aint right!

They need to move the heavies in tell the bumese government to f*ck right out of it and left the life saving people through to help clear up the damage that government is doing to there OWN people, in my opinion they dont want people in there becuase they know they have been upto no good.

I am disgraced about what has happened in recent months in that country but now, well, im just outraged and totally saddened by the thousands of families that are fighting by the hour not for there decomcracy not for there way or there rights but for there very lives... people dying all around them, men, woman and children.... Its not right, and for us to sit back (and by us i mean our demographic governments) and do nothing is wrong very very wrong.

Ok... i may have got a little out of hand with this post but i tell you what it is the single worst thing i have ever heard and witnessed on tv.... may they be in everyones thoughts.......................

hi everyone, I've just been pointed in the direction of this thread as I've decided to donate all the revenue my site www.arcadepenguin.com makes this month (until mid june) towards helping Burma. It probably won't be much but I'm hoping a few people will Digg the story on my homepage and help drive a little traffic. I'm sure the individual aid agencies (ie Red Cross) will be able to help out soon, they can't carry on alone forever.

The UN Security Council is basically useless, it is really a waste of money to maintain. Might as well use the funds for the UN to help those victims.

    You could have a BILLION dollars of aid sitting on the boarder and they still wont accept it, you know what i book this a genocide - a sensitive word i know but;

    Security Council responsibility to protect

UN Security Council Resolution 1674, adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 28 April 2006, "reaffirms the provisions of paragraphs 138 and 139 of the 2005 World Summit Outcome Document regarding the responsibility to protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity".[18] The resolution commits the Council to action to protect civilians in armed conflict.

    Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide#Genocide_as_a_crime_under_international_law

And yet they do nothing. :(

EDIT: Sky news reports that upto 1,500,000 MILLION PEOPLE COULD DIE!!!!!

Agree! But the permanent members have veto powers so nothing is done, all of them comfortable with the status quo. None willing to help the poor civilians as they do not depend on them for votes. It is a genocide done with the help of the UN Security Council.

    Why raise money?
Google and big corporatins have enough money, reduce a bit of the employees salary, and donate.

Because I think it is a good cause, and even though I'm a very small fish in a very large pond, I'd like to think I can help out a bit. Admittedly, the big companies can donate a lot more, but it's all relative and everyone's got to start somewhere...

I totally agree! Every little bit helps, what annoys me about this situation is if they will ever actually get it :(

You never know I suppose, but there's nothing else I can do short of flying out there to help in person! Aid agencies such as Red Cross will be in there helping out soon enough

Watch the news buddy, all the aid agencies are there waiting on the borders there just not allowed in, so "short of flying out there yourself?" you would face the same fate :(
