Namo NVU or XsitePro?

I have used Namo and Xsitepro. I am also used Frontpage but that is ... well you know. Not interested in DW.

What is the best of the 3 listed products above. I like Namo Webeditor 6 but was wondering if NVU may be best for clean code and ease of use and versatility.

Why not learn to write your own semantic, well structured and valid html, and the css to control presentation? It's not rocket science, but will let you write robust, forward compatible web pages; something none of the wysiwyg html generators can do.

    cheers,

NVU is buggy... It will also change codes...

I will stay clear of it.

XSitePro is not perfect at generating HTML too. It's the easiest tool out there if you don't know a thing about creating web pages, but the minute you want something cleaner, code-wise, you're stuck.

I tell anyone who's considering XSitePro these days that they'd be better off in the long run using Wordpress than XSP.

This is true that none of the wysiwyg editors can give 100% accurate results, but I like Dreamweaver most. but as you don't want it, Frontpage is what you can use.

I liked xsitepro for some of its SEO functions. I had problems using it for some very basic functions. I like wordpress but the latest release will not allow me to make posts or better yet posts that you write that won't post. It seems to be a known problem that is not easily addressed!

Reapr - I don't quite understand the problem you're having.

Are you saying you want to exclude certain posts from appearing on the main blog page?

I'm using the latest 2.2 version and haven't encountered any problems related to creating posts.

If I goto creat a new blog entry it will not post. I thought it was browser related and after trying several browsers no. I thought it may be server related but the older version of wordpress worked fine. Wordpress is a fine tool but I can not get the latest version to work.

Altough you're not interested in dreamweaver, it's a very good program if you want to make websites by coding, it automatically colors your codes and corrects errors in your codes. Give it a try. If you have the patience to use Frontpage. You have the patience to use everything.

Oh ok ... I just tried creating a post on 2.2 and it went through OK (just typed Test in subject and the body).

Sorry to hear of your problem, and hope you get it resolved soon.

I think if you goto the wordpress forum and do a search you will see this is not an unusual problem. Even people who had created posts see posts dissapearing several days later.

This is tha last I waill say about wordpress on this thread I would like to keep it on track.

The SEO functions of XSitePro are all dedicated to onpage SEO.

You just build a page, then run it through the SEO tab, XSitePro then the program tells you where your keywords are missing, how many keywords you should have in meta, your alt text etc, etc.

What most people don't realise is that the SEO functions can be tweaked to suit your self.

That means that if you have any advanced SEO knowlege, you can alter the settings to reproduce your unique twist in all your onpage sites.

I am expecting big things from XSitePro version 2, and have just recieved this email from Paul Smithson, the program creator.

    start
    ----------------------------------------------
    Hi Pete

As a current user of XSitePro I wanted to keep you up-to-date on
how the long-awaited version 2 is coming along.

Things are progressing really well :)))

There are now NINE programmers working on it full-time and
numerous others on a part-time basis.

I never planned on having this volume of dedicated programming
staff working on it, but when I looked at the list of new
features there was no way that we'd have it ready this year
    without making this huge investment.

All being well it will be released this Fall. I will keep you
posted once I know more. I'm sure you can understand that even
companies with the resources of Microsoft can't pinpoint exactly
when a new release will come out, but I can promise you that
we're working flat-out to make sure that when version two is
released it is nothing short of amazing. I'm sure you'll
    absolutely love it!

Now would be a good time to share with you how the upgrades are
    going to work.

Most software publishers provide free major upgrades for just 30
days, or 90 days at most. I wanted to be much more generous than
that and so here's what we've got planned.

Anyone who purchased XSitePro V1 within the six months prior to
the release of V2 will get this major upgrade for free.

Anyone who purchased the software prior to that six month period
will get it at a massively reduced price - even if you bought it
    two years ago.

Here's something I could do with your help on.

It is VERY likely that the price for NEW USERS will be going up
when version 2 comes out, probably to $297. So, if you know
anyone who is thinking about getting XSitePro (or should be
using XSitePro) tell them to get it now, before the price goes
up. I'm sure that V2 will be out within the next six months, so
if they buy it now they'll also be getting the update to V2 for
free - so be a good friend and share the news :)

Thanks, as always, for your support with XSitePro V1.

I'll make sure to keep you posted on any major developments with
    V2.

    Wishing you every success,

    Paul Smithson
    -------------------------------------------------------

The improvements will obviously be leaked in time, but I have requested that page widths be made percentages aswell as absolute.

This small tweak would make any width display well in all monitor settings, and take the format away taht skinny 800 wide site on a widescreen monitor.

At the moment, I use a CSS hack to get around it.

If your intent is to build simple, content sites, I recommend using and learning Wordpress.

If your intent is to build a content site with hundreds or thousands of pages, I recommend using and learning Wordpress.

There's no need to buy XSitePro, neither version 1 nor this second version.

Take it from an experienced XSP owner .... that's me.

Same opinion here, if you able to master WP then it's much better than XSP. But XSP is recommend for non-tech & newbie type.
