NameServers on a UK domain name?

I have an issue with creating co.uk name servers. I have registered a new uk domain name and setup three name server to three different ip addresses. When I execute a whois, the name server are showing up correctly with the ip addresses next to them. However, if I were to take any one of those name servers and enter it into a network lookup (nwtools.com) it returns Error: Host not found.

I have been able to change a few other uk domain names to point to these name servers. All these domains has been changed and are all pointing and resolve correctly. All those sites load no problem. However, I noticed a problem when using another domain registrar. I was trying to change a .com domain to point to these name servers but it wouldn't let me, it was saying the name server / ips don't exist. I contact the company who told me to wait another 48 hours. After waiting almost 2 weeks, they still don't work.

I noticed something on the control panel which confused me. It says...
Important: Once you have created or modified your host records you need to email them to support at fasthosts.co.uk so we can add them to the global registries. This will enable you to update gTLD domains (e.g. com, .net) using your new personal UK host records.

The domain registrar I am using for this is 123-Reg but there is nothing like this on their control panel. Is this a normal procedure for UK name servers? I have already contacted 123-Reg several times but they are totally usefull, I would consider changing the domain to fasthosts but they only allow 2 name servers.

    Help

If you are dealing with US-based registrars, the problem likely has to do with the fact that no American registrars register .uk domains directly. They have to make an exchange agreement with a UK registrar that has been approved by the local ICANN-type authority there (forgive me for not knowing this detail, but that's not critical here). I would try to contact the UK-based registrar directly for the domain(s) you are having trouble with. When I register .uk domains I always get at least one email from them letting me know who they are.

    Hope this helps,
    Neil

well, as a matter of fact, you have found the problem and the way to solving them,
just as you said, when you change the registrar, many things will come up, what you need is to wait, when enough time is fulfilled, everything will be smooth, trust me, seen from our previous experience, some guys require us to assist them to do a bulk transfer, same question has emerged, don't worry about it.

I am dealing with all UK based companies for the UK and GTLD domains.
123-Reg - The domain with the name servers.
FastHosts - Everything else (UK domains will point, Non-UK domains bring name server error).
I contacted FastHosts who say the name servers are not setup correctly and I should contact 123-Reg.
Guess what 123-Reg say, Everything is setup correctly.

I feel a circle coming on...

Are you suggesting name servers take more than 19 days to resolve? If so then I would suspect you are talking in the wrong thread my friend.

I contacted 123-Reg again to complain about this issue and they confirmed the nameservers I created on their control panel didn't get activated. They have now done this manually and all is well.
