NameServers are acting odd?

I registered a name with Godaddy, set my NameServers. Added it in cPanel - I get a 404 when I go to the URL.

Usually if the NS haven't updated it'd just show a Godaddy parked page. But instead I'm getting a 404. It should either be Godaddy or my site. Why am I getting a 404?

    Hi,

I hope this helps you out. You obviously know what you needed to set your nameservers to over at GoDaddy! So you go and you create the account in your WHM/cPanel and it seems to be giving a 404.

1 think you can do is upload an index.html page and see if that shows up.

1 of the name servers could be down. If they are on seperate subnets then your cPanel will still work, depends on which nameserver went down.

Check your zonefile. See if your cPanel account is setting the correct nameservers. If you don't know what a zonefile is it is the DNS Settings/Configuration (used to be called a zonefile but you don't hear that term anymore)

Thanks for all the info, but I don't think it's that.

Because I changed my nameservers back to Godaddy and it's still showing a 404. It should be on a Godaddy parked page, but it shows a 404... really odd.

Does this have anything to do with it?

I don't understand. I can't delete, renew, transfer or update the domain I bought tonight from Godaddy?
