Nameserver transfer problem

I have registered a new domain with namecheap and have added in my hosting's nameserver IP address. However, the URL still points to namecheap's IP address and I cannot get my site going. I have waited for the past 36 hours and yet this is not completed. I understand that normally, it takes less than 24 hours to get the DNS propogated but 36 hours?

Any of you experience similar scenario?

*sigh* It's been 48 hours and no answer from namecheap after 20 hours.

Apparently namecheap is having a problem on their parked pages...
I also managed to solve this problem with my hosting partner within 15minutes.
    Thanks for your help ysf1

Most DNS resource records have a TTL value of a few hours (e.g. intel.com: 4 hours; sun.com: 24 hours; redhat.com: 10 minutes; digitalpoint.com: 24 hours) - you get the idea.

Never wait this long. If your domain name isn't configured after half a day, maximum a day, get on the phone with your DNS provider.
