Nameserver oddity

    Hi,

I transferred one of my domains to a new host yesterday and also left all the old files on the old server too. I had always thought that this would make a seamless nameserver transfer as when it's propagating the changes the site would show on one server or another.

My problem is is that I cannot access my own site. Other people are able to - and I was able to for a while yesterday but now I can't again. I am still getting hits to the site - I can see through the tracking but I have no idea if they are viewing the old server or the new.

Why is this happening? Why am I not seeing the sites on the old server if they have not propagated onto my ISP yet? It seems really odd to me - and this being my main business site I am worried about it not propagating correctly (a nameserver lookup tells me that the namservers are pointing correctly at my new host).

    Any advice please?

    Thanks,

    Jez.

Are you sure the site is setup properly on the new website? Did you run a ping and/or tracert from your system to check which host you are actually connecting?

Clear your cookies and cache. Often, browser settings will simply reload the cache and therefore the old DNS settings.

It seems set up fine. Like I said, I could access it yesterday and others are accessing it - I can see from the stats.

    Yes, I tried that.

I just don't get it
