nameserver issue? help please

My dating site sends an email notification to the user when they receive a message on the site. Many of the notify emails arent going to their destination.

In exim, I keep seeing this message:

    failed for \n550-unrouteable

mail domain "ns1.mydomain.com"\n550 Sender verify failed

Is this a problem with the server that is SENDING the mail, or a problem with the server that is RECEIVING? Both are blaming the other. I would imagine it is the sender, as the mail domain error points to the sender's name server - ns1.mydomain.com. But the weird thing is that emails from the same name server are being sent to other places, just not some.

Does anyone know whats going on?

    Thanks.

try restarting exim or whatever mailer daemon you're using.

    Here's the strange part.

With hotmail, when a new user registers, they aren't receiving the confirmation email (or any email generated from the site).

However, if the user is already registered on the site, and gets a site-generated email, it ends up in their hotmail inbox just fine.

So site email notifcation messages work fine EXCEPT for new hotmail users. Does anyone have any idea whats going on? Ive tried this with multiple hotmail accounts too.
