NameJet scammed me

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by kdenisk, Oct 17, 2011.

Hello. Here is the problem. A year ago I bid on some domain at NameJet. Then it stayed in my wish-list. Last week, after I got back home, I saw, that I am a lucky owner of some worthless domain and my CC billed for it. NameJet not even asked me, if I still want this domain. They just bid for me.

Please advice, is it possible to return my money or legally sue NJ for what they've done?

You can also contact your cc company and cancel the payment.

If he bid on the domain name that would be considered fraud.

Just because he forgot he made the bid, does not put NameJet at fault.

Sure you can sue. Whether you'll prosper or not depends on any applicable law and your contract terms.

As the others said, contact NJ and see if it can be worked out. Good luck.

If the terms and conditions of the bid did not state that they would automatically bid for you, then you can pursue legal action

I agree. You better read the terms and conditions of the bidding system first so you know where you stand and whether you can purse legal action against NJ.

If i were you, i will contact cc company first to stop the transaction and then talk with NJ to cancel the automatically bid.

Exactly! Or it's simple - domain name was valuable an year ago and it's not even worth pennies these days. Let me guess, it's a .co domain :D

Like everyone else has already mentioned, if you have already bid on it and no one else bid it above you then usually in these auction models the last bidder wins. You can do nothing else but probably develop a website on it or just put a landing page and run adsense.....Hopefully it might be worth something then.
