NameCheap RAISES their Prices??

I just received notice from NameCheap that they are taking the .coms to 9.29 per domain!! GoDaddy has gone up to 9.99!!

Will this force people to GD afilliate sites??

I think that I will because you can get .coms for under 7.00 and they are through GD anyways!!

What are your thoughts?? What are some good afilliates that sell cheap without a HOOK somewhere like Yahoo??

The Verisign registry is raising prices 42 cents on Oct 14 so all registrars, affiliates and reseller plans must increase their prices or take a hit on profits. GD reseller sites will also raise prices but may still be cheaper than going to GD directly. Remember though that it cost at least a $99/year to be a GD reseller.

Yup, it is the ICANN price increase and every registrar would be affected by the additional 41cents so no matter where you will see the hike.

However instead of complaining about it and if you want to take advantage of the current lower prices, just go register your domain name now or extend the registration for the current ones.

In the end, the price hike is inevitable.

It is definitely cheaper than the $75 which I paid for each domain years ago before the monopoly was broken.

"On April 5, 2007, ICANN approved a price increase for the .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO and .BIZ registries" This is over and above 20 cents charged for each domain... forcing new prices.
In fact if anyone wants to buy TLD's do it before Oct14th ... Last few days to aquire .info for $1.99, and TLD's for $6.95 on my domain registration services.
    Cheers,
    GS

With rising costs in every other aspects of our lives, I suppose domain name registration has to follow suit. But luckily for the dropping US dollar value, it is not going to make a lot of difference for the rest of us.

I preferred Namecheap because it allows payment from PayPal, without credit card added, but now it dissapointed me. INFO domain for $9+?? Get out of here.. GoDaddy offers them for $2. The only reason I'm not with them is because of the PayPal problem.
