    Hi,

just wanted to buy my first domain from namecheap.
in order to do it I have to fund my account.
the minimal amount I can deposit there is 7.99 and my domain is only 2.99
I'm not planing on other purchases and dont want to have 5 bucks blocked.

Is there a way around it?

imho namecheap is better to me besides that one problem.
godaddy is majorly expensive when it comes to buying domains.
if you want protection that is.

Well, just pay with a credit card and that would solve your problem.

The other thing is that if you intend to keep the domain name, you might want to leave funds for the second year renewal so that by that time, you do not need to worry about it expire if you forgot about it.

Don't you plan to buy additional domains sometime in the future? I do not know your reason for not wanting to buy any more domains at namecheap..

The extra cash will help for renewing. If you don't plan on renewal, forget the 5 bucks

Don't fund the account, you should be able to pay directly with a credit card.

Change the option to 'Pay using credit card. ' and not 'Pay using the funds available in your account.' . You should be able to pay the $2.98 that way.

why are you crying for 4 dollars? Just register the domain for 2 years and thats it. If $4 is too much, than you don't belong to the game I guess.

I'm not crying. I'm just mad that they do this kind of crap. $6 is not much but I would rather spend it on beer instead of letting it rotten 1 YEAR on their account

They have the minimum amount because of fees.
