i checked .ws prices on namecheap and to my shock it was 29$ (rounded off) while the leader godaddy just costs 10$ why is there such a big diffrence of 20$??
Two words: business models. Why does Network Solutions still charge $34.99 while Go Daddy charges only a fraction of that?
well although i dont really get what Dave meant by Business models..(godaddy girls? lol).. the thing is i feel they take more for some while taking less for others which take more for that some...
I bought a .org.uk at NameCheap then found them cheaper elsewhere a few days later. I guess they're only cheap for certain domains.
Indeed. But apparently the OP does. Network Solutions charges more than the industry average. But they offer 24 by 7 toll-free phone support, which is valuable to a lot of people who aren't tech-savvy and want faster responses. Now Go Daddy offers a fraction of Network Solutions' prices. But they don't do toll-free phone support (which is understandable), they upsell like hell, and do impose certain administrative fees. Of course, I'm just speculating since I don't authoritatively know what their respective business models are. Needless to say, that will "guide" them in how to make money "effectively".
The domain selling market isn't a perfectly competitive model where people sell at the same prices. The pricing strategy differs from site to site- our aim is to find the best mix of quality and cost
Excuse me its dedicated to webmasters site specially seo.ws is now appraised hot and yes did i say its .ws?
