Hi, I'm new to this domaining thing and came across nameboy.com's site and was wondering if a bot appraises the domains or a human? And how accurate would you say it is compared to other appraisers (human and bots)? Thanks, -CU_Designs ---->Added text: I just created a poll. So hope for some honest participation in it. I googled information to find some to list. So of the choices please select which is most accurate. I still want to know if Nameboy is a bot or human though. Thanks.
htmlindex: ... Everyone else: Is anyone in the mood to answer my questions and participate in the poll? Would appreciate it. Thanks.
Probably forum posts from people with experience then maybe Estibot but it has a lot of nuances, difficulties, conditions, & differences any way you slice it. So 9 time out of 10 it's a ball park figure. Ya never know
Estibot is probably the most accurate out of the many that I've seen. But don't base the value of a domain name on this appraisal sites. They are often very inaccurate. Skinny
I voted for Estibot, as it the most accurate online domain appraisal tool. Another good one would be namebio.com, but that one is not an appraisal site, it is just to compare similar domain sales to get an idea of a particular domain's value.
A domain is only as valuable as whatever someone is willing to pay for it! this would depend on what they actually need or want it for. Domainer's will typically give lower $ assessments as they analyze domains from a reseller's view. The enduser however will pay for the value of the name equivalent to their project ie. Name is to be used for a tv program will get you big bucks no matter what the name. I chose estibot as I believe it gives a good balanced value somewhere between reseller and enduser.
Is Estibot good for fresh and established domains? Or is it good for just established domains? And if it's just good for established domains, then what site is good for fresh domains? Again just interested in appraisers that can give the most accurate appraisal and not to depend solely on it. I would say that any domain name's value is worth whatever the buyer pays for it. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut that can't be true all the time because a person can value something but not be willing to pay what they feel its worth IF they feel they can get it at a cheaper cost especially if the person selling it doesn't have a clue what that particular thing is worth nor just how much the buyer REALLY values it.
There are many things to take into account when appraising a domain name such as: Age, Length, # of Words, Backlinks, Google PR, Alexa, Brandability, Marketability, Comparable Sales, etc. Free appraisal services (bots) can determine many things such as age, backlinks, alexa, PR, alexa, and figure a value based soley upon these factors. However, a bot cannot determine what the domain means and how much brandability/marketability it has and is therefore, always inaccurate.
It is really, really hard to appraise most domain names. Whether a bot does it or a human. As stated above there are just sooo many factors. Also one mans ugly domain name is anothers treasured DN It really is a matter of opinion in alot of cases. Out of all the choices I would have to say either estibot or respected members in a domain name forum.
leapfish.com is weird...its not consistent - as an example i bought e-onlinebusiness.com a couple of weeks ago...via namecheap.com on leapfish its worth over $9000k on estibot.com its worth only the rego fee...very different values - but if i was to ask estibot.com for the value of lovemidnight.com i get $780 compared to leapfish.com $20 some domains have similar value and others don't. its difficult to know what free domain valuation service providers see as value....?
EstiBot is the best one. It uses search popularity, previous sales data (from namebio.com) , keyword frequency as an indicator of the brandability and memorability of the domain name, title and anchor text popularity, backlinks, domain name length and number of keywords, Alexa ranking, domain availability in other TLD's, and more.
Ok so Estibot uses search popularity as one of the many factors to determine value. So is Estibot even great for fresh domains that have no traffic and such? Which site(s) would give the most accurate appraisal for fresh domains?
Wow! What a difference between Estibot's estimation and the actual sell price; not even close. But nice to see that the sell price was OVER Estibot's estimation rather than under it. Much like with Leapfish I noticed when doing my research on domains that have sold. Leapfish gives an estimation amount and usually from what I've seen the results end in the domain selling for over 10 times as much as the estimation by the bots. Looks like it all depends on WHERE you put domains up for sale.
It was timeout error, when Estibot appraised creditcard.info too low. http://estibot.com/results.php?domain=CreditCard.info Domain: CreditCard.info Keywords: (User-Defined) credit card Frequency: 180,000,000 Anchor Text: 1,040,000 Title: 1,300,000 Backlinks: 0 Alexa Rank: 3778750 Traffic (uniques) / Day: 80 PPC Ads Score: 8.5/10 Exact Searches/mo: 797914 Valuation : USD 29,000 ------------- Domain: CreditCard.info Keywords: (User-Defined) credit card Frequency: 180,000,000 Anchor Text: 1,040,000 Title: 1,300,000 Backlinks: 0 Alexa Rank: 3778750 Traffic (uniques) / Day: 80 PPC Ads Score: 8.5/10 Exact Searches/mo: 0 Timeout error. I will say, that Estibot is a most accurate appraisal bot. Sure, if you need quality appraisal, you should buy it from industry expert. But estibot can help you to gather information, and after that you can buy an appraisal at Sedo. Appraisal of one of my domains (WordWord.com): Estibot: 320 Sedo: 800 Leapfish: 656 Nameboy: 6961 But I think, that expert appraisals may differ. Another examples from domainers are highly appreciated here. Please post your domain appraisals from market experts (Moniker, Sedo, etc) if you have any. Plus results from free bots. Thanks.
Please do not fill up my thread with appraisals from experts nor bots on your domain names nor anyone's domains. That's not what this thread is about. It doesn't prove anything unless the domain you post has already been sold. Because it's quite obvious that the sale price differs from the appraised price; sometimes under and sometimes it's over the appraised the amount. So IF you are going to post your domain appraisals from market experts or bots please follow the example the NeoGen presented: Who or what appraised it The domain name How much it sold for But also including the following information: Where it was sold (so we know where you got your information from) That would keep this thread on topic and not veer off in another direction. I want this thread to be the most benefiting as possible to those who read it. So providing as much information is helpful in seeing what appraiser (if any) is most accurate compared to the actual price it was sold for. Thanks.
