    OK so i need your help ( i have no money) got my new dedicated server setup yesterday with plesk cp never used that before always cpanel it has 2 ips so i used them to setup nameservers using bedroommedia.biz ns1 and ns2 bedroommedia.biz that all seemed to go well i think can take 48/72 hours for that all to sort its self out and i also set it up in godaddy so that the domains could be used as name servers so thatsall fine then i setup the account bedroommedia.co.uk point it to the correct nameservers and stuff (yesterday) and nothing happened yet and i kow it can takea while but starting to get worried heres a screen shot of the nameservers for the account bedroommedia.co.uk seems a bit weird to me shows ns1.bedroommedia.biz ns2.bedroommedia.biz the nameservers that i setup then it shows ns1 and ns2 bedroommedia.co.uk (the site im trying to host)

    also what should i have the reverse lookup for the ips set to

    hopefully someone can help me out
    cheers

    Doesn't your host give you the option to use their nameservers and MX details?

    You have 1 IP address. You need 2 additional IPs along with 1 primary

    Your ns1 value uses same setting as server IP while your ns2 uses secondary IP

    The value for ns2 is fine while ns1 is not. Get a new IP and add it to your server, then assign ns1 to it.

    well the server is in the EU so you only get 2 ip"s u can get more but you have to justify the use of them so i used the same ip for both nameservers ive been told that works tho isnt advised but we will have to wait and see but one more thing is why when icreate an account for the domain bedroommedia.co.uk its automaticaly creating ns1 and ns2 bedroommedia.co.uk and ns bedroommedia.co.uk

    oh yeah nearyl forgot what is the host name suppose to be and can i just use anything for reverse dns lookup

    sorry plesk seems a bit advanced for me

    Strange that they are restricting you to only 2 Ip's. We are also based in Europe and give away unlimited (within our range) IP's. Justification needs to be given for 6 or more.

    Try this:

    Domain:
    domain.com = XX.XX.XX.01

    NS:
    ns1.domain.com = XX.XX.XX.01
    ns2.domain.com = XX.XX.XX.02

    I don't like the fact that you are using a dedicated server and cant use their nameservers but also being restricted on using IP's.

    I host my own in the DC I work in. The PM I sent should give you a better idea on who & where.

    I really question the value of running DNS servers as part of a hosting account/dedicated server. Just one more thing to go wrong.

    Many of the large DNS providers have free accounts available for small numbers of domains. Why not use one of them?

    Why dont you give justification?

    Its easier to do get IPs than anything.

    Ask them justification form and fill that up. Say the reason as Nameserver IPs
