To point a domain to a name server or to an IP address. Are there really any difference ? I ma new to this redirecting stuff. I should think that its no difference for SEO right ?
Thanks linkmanager. My first thought was that pointing the domain could be treated like a redirect by Google, but I understand that I was out of line there.
Focus on good design and helpful website is more important than same IP problem. Same IP save money. Different IP cost more money.
You point to an IP if you're sure your site will stay in that IP. If you're hosted in shared hosting, your host might change servers (or IP) anytime. In this case it's better to point to your host's name server and let them resolve any IP changes.
The ONLY reason for having the domain pointing to name servers instead of an IP on shared hosting would be that they can change IP anytime and then my site would go down ? Correct ?
There are other reasons - like if you want to use your host's control panel to add/remove subdomains/emails etc.
