I noticed name.com was really cheap and had .im domains something that godaddy doesn't even carry for a low $4.99 a year, now they are $89.99 a year. Does anyone know why they had such a huge jump in price and why they had it so cheap to begin with...

4.99$ .im domains was a promotional offer... just like the 3.99$.in domains...

BTW,they have announced new hosting offers...Hope they provide quality hosting just like their service for domain registrations...

I stay clear of any domain name in a sale... because the renewal price will always be a stinger...

They were probably just a loss leader for a short while in the .im market, trying to gain a large market share, hoping people would develop the sites and then be on the hook for the $90 fee. It makes perfect business sense really. But that is a huge jump to say the least.

That's the way they make people register those domain names. There was a time when .cn was 20 cents, which I registered a few last year, but they require $20+ to renew. :p..
