Name.com Domain Registration - A few questions

I have questions concerning the domain registration process with Name.com (They would be used only for domains registration and not hosting)

1- Private Whois option: if selected during the buying process, can this option be deactivated at a later time once the domain is bought.
2- Private Whois option: Is this free just for the first year?
3- Google Apps option: If this is selected, can it be deactivated later? Is it a worthwhile addition or are there any downsides?

    Thank you in advance.

    1. Yes, it can
    2. You'll need to renew your domain anyway, so it's free all the time.
    3. Yes it can. It is a worthwhile addition.
