.name and .ws extension

    Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if the search engines give any importance to .name / .ws / .info domains?

Good domain names with .com/.net/.org extensions are almost completely saturated for any business niche.

    Thanks

For the search engine, there is no importance IMHO attached to the type of domain name extension that you use. It is just that if you target human users to type in a URL, they would inevitably type the .com more often because it has been around the longest.

right, search engines hardly think about the domain extension while ranking them.

I don't think a tld determines search engine rankings. It's from the branding and promotion point of view that people prefer .com,.net,.org and not .ws and .name.

Search engines do not prefer any extension. It does determine type-in traffic. You are likely to get less type-in traffic for the extensions you mentioned unless you develop them into a site.

Search engines DO give weight to extensions. The order seem to be as follows.

.COM, .NET, Country Specific Extensions followed by other TLDs. If in doubt why not search with a specific keyword.
