n00b question on Selling Domains

Alright, I am a total newbie to buying and selling domains. I currently have a few domains through my hosting provider (IXwebhosting) and a few that I bought through register.com. My question is how do I go about selling or even transferring domains to another person? Do I have to be a "reseller" to be able to sell domains I already own?

Any links to articles or sites are appreciated!

    Thanks much in advance, :)

EDIT: Also, if I am a reseller through godaddy, can I resell domains I bought through register.com? Hmm.. I am assuming I would have to transfer them to godaddy first yes?

If you are planning to sell an existing domain name, you need to make sure that the registrar is one which allows people to sign up with. Some places like Namecheap, Domainsite and GoDaddy allows you to do a free 'push' to another person.

I would think that for those domain names through your hosting provider that you want to sell, it is best to move it to an easily accessible domain name registrar.

Selling process typically just include advertising the domain name that you want to sell, then when an interested party pays you, you push the domain name to him and the deal is done. Typically Paypal is used as a the payment processor.

You do not need to be a reseller to sell existing domain names. The reseller program basically allows you to sell new and unregistered domain names.

Some sites post domain names for sale. Transfer of domain names is usualy done at site you host at. They will have directions on how to tranfser domain name to new host.

Look up domain selling on google first site seems to get alot of good ones. They sell for percent of price. Not every domain name is worth money and not all will sell.

This is perfect information, thanks guys. I think I will transfer the domains to godaddy and use an account there to push domains after I sell them.
