Mystery Clicks

Discussion in 'Reporting & Stats' started by yaffer, Apr 24, 2006.

Every day i'm getting clicks from an unknow source. Today for example I checked my stats and there's over a $4 discrepancy between my Overview Report and my Detailed Report. I think it might be from my index page. The stats don't show the proper amount of traffic for that page. Any thoughts?

Google's stats are always out of whack during the day. It's only at the end of the day, when everything comes together, than you can be sure if there's any discrepancy at all.

It could just be that you put your codes on a page and forgot to channel it.

this might happen, if some one clicked your ads from SE cache verison.

these clicks are counted in your total earning. but it cant be seen either in custom channel report or url channel report.

imho this might be your problem.

and dont worry... these are valid clicks.

I think I've done the exact same thing. I've started getting a couple of bucks a day from one of my "mystery sites." I ran a bunch of experimental sites a while ago and I'm sure I forgot the channel code on a few.

Here's a stupid question: Is there any way to find out where I'm getting these clicks?

I guess you could always go to every site you haven't worked on in a while (and thus wouldn't have channels) and check their source code? I know, not all that great of a suggestion, but I can't think of anything else, heh. :)
