Mystery clicks, soaring CTR, no earnings

My blogs usually pull in 10 clicks or so a day, on traffic of about 500 pg. views.

For today, the overall earnings report showed 50 clicks and a CTR of about 15%.

None of the channels showed any clicks or earnings. The traffic count seemed right. The page views go up correctly but the clicks have not changed (50 and 0 for each channel).

Having 50 clicks is pretty much impossible. Having no clicks is highly unusual.

Anyone else experiencing this or know what it is?

I emailed AdSense asking the same.

    Thanks.

thanks abhik -- it's not that, I wish. There are zero earnings.

I am able to access the account and there has been no communication from Google.

    Clicks are not paid, if
    1. Those are invalid clicks. Clicks like from publisher or repetitive clicks are rendered invalid by Google System.
    2. CPM ads. CPM ads are paid per impressions.

I've had this on a few sites over the last few days - high number of clicks. I was thinking it was someone clicking on the ads so I've notified Google, but after asking on another forum someone has suggested they are experiencing this also and that they think it is a problem on G's side. I'd like to know the answer though!

Let me know how you get on Nazzman.

Haha, I'm having the exact same issue right now and was about to make a topic myself. I have a CPM of $99.90 for today and I have no idea wtf is going on. Is there a way to track who's clicking on ads? If there's an app that can, it probably can't track down what happened today though..

On the stroke of midnight things went back to normal. As of today (two days later) no response from Google and no more weird clicks. Just the usual pennies from AdCents.

Same here. I've also read of several other people that have experienced the same thing. I'm guessing it must have been an issue on Google's side, so hopefully all is ok again now.
