mysqli_autocommit

    Hey,

    can you explain what is mysqli_autocommit in php, I try to read some manual but still can not understand what mysqli_autocommit doing...
    can you explain please

    Try the following link - http://us3.php.net/manual/en/mysqli.autocommit.php

    Basically what it does is autocommit not only turns on/off transactions, but will also 'commit' any waiting queries. That means is it will delete* all the results and rollback the query or transaction to before it started

    I read somewhere that it speed ups mysql inserts, how come this could help ?

    Well if it speeds up mysql inserts then the process will be more faster and less weight on your server. If you mean how, it probably compresses the data and then inserts it for a more streamline process.

    so basically its turn off transaction , collect all data, and then insert in bulk ?
