Hi folks, I need your help in a MySQL vs PostgreSQL benchmark. I finished several days a go a benchmark between, MySQL 5.0.51, MySQL 5.1.30 with InnoDB 1.0.3 (Google SMP patch http://code.google.com/p/google-mysql-tools/wiki/InnodbAsyncIo and http://code.google.com/p/google-mysql-tools/wiki/InnodbIoTuning) and PostgreSQL 8.3.7 (latest stable version) with a small database (1024 MB) and with 100 simultaneous users. Until now is not a clear delimitation between MySQL 5.1.30 with InnoDB 1.0.3 and PostgreSQL 8.3.7. I posted the results here http://www.randombugs.com/linux/mysql-postgresql-benchmarks.html together with configuration files and hardware spec. I need your help to tune up the database confiuguration for the next benchmark. I know, right now the configuration is not perfect, but with your help I can achieve that. The next hardware spec for the benchmark will be CPU: I7 920 QuadCore RAM: 12 GB HDD: 1TB Harddrive (Raid1) Regards
