MySql & VPS Permission Problem

    Hey everyone..

I'm somewhat new to VPS but I've been experimenting with them recently. Currently I'm running Web(Open)VZ with LxAdmin and I need to run an arcade script that requires a mySQL database.

I go into the admin mode on LxAdmin and I create a database which is the same as my username as well as entering a password.

So as far as I know the mySQL database has been created, I then enter the information into the config.php for the script and when I refresh the browser I get, "Cannot select database. Please check back later."

So I'm pretty confident I am screwing up with the permissions some how, yet I don't know how to set the permissions. I've used SSH to enter grants allowing all permission but the puttY doesn't spit anything back to me.

So I'm pretty confused, if anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong and maybe how to set permissions for mySQL with LxAdmin, or if I have to go through phpmyadmin and do it all... any help would be awesome!

    Thanks!
