Hey I have recently attempted to install both mihalism (image hosting script) and mybb (forum) to my server. Both require MySQLs be setup so I setup the accounts made the users granted access, etc then they still won't still properly... someone help!

i'm just guessing, but what about file and folder permissions, are they correct?
are you getting any errors when you attempt an install?
do you have fantastico? will scripts install using that?
have you contacted your host about it?

Yeah all permissions are set as they are supposed to be. The only errors that come are MySQL hostname is wrong (I jut say localhost) then I put in MySQL username and password which I know are right (and MySQL account has full permissions.) Its weird.

then its not localhost, you'll have to contact your host and ask.
also look in your control panel and see if there is any mention of the host name. look where the databases are created i think.

Also make sure you have added the mysql user so permisions are granted for the database trying to connect to. If not that, then it probably is the host address is incorrect.
