    Hey everyone,

I am running a general forum at http://www.postmaniac.info and I am changing forum hosts, how would I go about restoring the database? I have already downloaded the back up but I do not know how to restore the database properly... Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    -Clookid

Upload the database to your new server and then upload bigdump after change the values described inside the one-file script.

This is the easy way to restore your database because if you use phpMyAdmin you may end up with timeout errors

    Bigdump is available here: www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php

P.S., do not forget to update your phpBB configuration file as well ;)

I think it's easy to restore the database if you have cpanel.
Click "Backups" and they choose the database on you pc,they click upload.Your done.

Yes, I have tried this... It installs two databases, "localhostsql" and "localhostsqlkey." When trying to connect to either of them on the configuration file, it does not work.

    Also, BigDump: http://postmaniac.info/dump/bigdump.php

I no longer have access to the first database, it would be a whole lot easier if I did!

EDIT: Yay! I do until the 1st of May!

Nevermind guys! I have worked it out! I realized that I actually had to create a database to do the restoration, I thought that it would automatically create one out of the back up! :D
