    Hi,

I run a filebased site and store fileinfo in one mysql tabel and the actual file in a mediumblob another table. Files are each about 250KB. It's currently about 6000 records but it's quickly expanding and will be about 150,000 records soon, the file table will be about 50GB! I can't seem to find much info on limits of mySQL, will my database slow down with this much or even crash.

    Thanks for any info

If your queries are written well (using keys properly so only a few rows are examined per query), it should slow down only a little bit. You can compress the blobs using the compress() MySQL function if you are not doing it already.

But the table is currently about 2GB, and when I use phpMyadmin to browse to the end of the table, it takes 46 seconds! Is this normal for a large table. I know I'd never really use that query in a working environment.
