does adding a link to your site on myspace.com help with PR? Can myspace be used to help adsense income?

well myspace has bulletins. i can put a link in those. each time i post a new bulletin, all the people on my friends list (which i am building right now) will get an update. i have some good content and the link, hoping that they'll click on it and come to my site.

that is the idea, i haven't done much with it for now.

bulletins wouldn't get indexed because you need to be logged in as a user to see them, they only show to your "friends"

links from myspace and myspace blogs will show up if you're signed up for google webmasters, but I doubt they carry much weight i.e. you'll need a lot of them

you can use myspace blogs to get links from myspace.com but it's not possible to add a link to your profile

I don't think it helped us on our website. It did help with traffic for a bit, but it is too much to keep up with for not enough benefit. There are marketing groups that all work together on MySpace, so finding one of those wouldn't hurt. It really depends more on your Niche.

As far as the original question, will it help with your page rank, I think there are certain pages where it will, but not on your private page. There are some kind of public forums or message boards that are crawled that you can try.

I setup a specific myspace page for one of the projects i have been working on. Then i jumped on the so called "Whore Train's" and collected as many friends as possible! In the space of about 1 month i managed to get about 700 friends on my myspace page but to be fair it didnt really make much difference to promoting our site.

I would say once a week i would send out a bulletin to all of the friends and to be fair the click through rate was very very small. I.e. probably about 1 friend out of all the 700 would actually visit the website!!

I hope you dont mind me posting this post, but its just what i have experienced!

    Regards
    Tom
