Has anyone else ventured onto MySpace - I'm at http://www.myspace.com/sarahknz

It's too wierd - get this email

Is this typical american speak? Crikey, it's not the way you talk to a NZ girl you've never even been introduced to!

From the lack of english I can only assume it's really a Nigerian 419'er trying to soften me up!

Wow. That's pure crap. As if anyone talks like that and he sure seems to like flowers. It's not typical anywhere speak. It's garbage. You'd think he'd at least spell correctly, make use of his shift and enter keys and not sound like a fairy.

Is this like Orkut and Yahoo360? One of those friends' networks things?

I created a couple of accounts but never much saw the point... I mean friends I want to keep in touch with I keep in touch with... not sure why I'd want to try to keep in touch with friends of someone else I may know...

I suspect the concept was a 24-hour wonder...

I actually know some people on Orkut too, but I never quite got the point of bothering to log in to meet them when I could just send an email or call

    Lol, Sarah.

Why did Minstrel even mention Hilary Duff? What does she have to do with this thread? Nothing from what I can see. That was a totally anthony-esque post, Minstrel.

Sarah has her listed as a 'friend' on her Myspace profile. :)

I was always totally annoyed by Friendster, but I do use Tribe every so often. It's posting features are better so a lot of people I know use it to share photos, recipes, events, etc. I think most people use it to find or promote events and groups they're involved in.

You have had me laughing from the last few posts I read of your - stop it!! I can't even give you a pos rep for it until I pass more around since I gave you that red rep just to see what kind of reaction it would get. I knew you had plenty to spare, plus people probably gave you pos rep just because you mentioned it.

So yes, I am the guilty one, but you have to admit it kind of stirred some things up. (now ducking as the red reps start flying back. LOL)

MySpace looks like another one of those social networking things (like Google's Orkut)... so I'm going to ask... what do people see in these types of services? I setup an Orkut account when it first came out, but I never really understood the point. Like I need a website to keep track of who my friends are? Huh???

I set one up and closed it. After 1000 messages asking if i'd travel to third world countries to be their wives, have cyber sex and/or send people my dirty underwear for money.
