I have determined that myspace is worth 400 billion facebook is worth 260 billion youtube is worth 380 billion and digg is worth 140 billion These figures may seem vastly exagerated but they are within reason when you consider the fantastic growth of those sites. It shows no sign of stopping and i don't forsee a slow down until nearly every human on earth is a member of atleast one of those sites. Digg's future valuation may seem paltry compared to Myspace's or Youtube's valuation but it is a key player in the new dynamic service user orientated architecture folsonmic ajaxed crowdsourced web 2.0 internet. In fact, we may see the emergergence of myspace city which is an actual physical city based around myspace and an accredited facebook college. Youtube could produce movies and eventually take over CBC, CNN and NBC as the leading provider of media. FOX will be the only tradtional media outlet remaining.
Everyone is quick to say no but I see where you're coming from. I say maybe, not anytime soon though.
people would rater turn on the tv still theres an average for 3 to 4 tvs in every house hold they wouldnt all the sudden turn to the interent and say hey lets watch youtube!
I wander how much a homless worth? I'm thinking putting some homless on Wall Street and sell advertising on them. Thinking that millions uniques will see them, I think a homless worth 300 billions? With 30 people like that I'll buy the entire US.
the caluclations must be making the acutall values worth x400 more or something lol, myspace is worth maby 1billion at the most.
Put the bong down dummy. Myspace is not worth over a billion. Neither is facebook or youtube (which is basically Myspace as 70% of it's traffic is from myspace).
myspace is deffiantly worth around 1000 million imo, do the math your self, they have advertising package deals with fox interactive that go for 1 million each all they need to sell is a 1000 advertising packages and their is the money back, Think in terms of revenue and the target market here myspace is a advertising dream, sure the hosting of the site factors into the argument aswell.
YouTube is filled with copyrighted content, I doubt it is worth that much. Even if it is, no company would touch it because of the lawsuits that will follow. Myspace's worth sounds about right, but trends come and goes.
Even if you don't agree with the value, all three of those sites are worth over a billion. Why? Because there are individuals and corporations that are willing to pay that much. You can argue about it all you want, but as long as there's a willing buyer then that's what the price is. You may feel that it's stupid for someone to pay that much, but that's what those sites are valued at.
