That is the first thing I stumbled upon just browsing Milwaukee, WI. I guess Craig list has found it's niche'
"Who needs the money? We don't really care," "Finding a good cause is incredibly hard and time-consuming," "We both know some people who own more than a billion (dollars) and they're not any the happier. They also need bodyguards," Just love the attitude.
I don't believe it...I can't believe it's worth that much. It wasn't bought too long ago for just a little over $500 million. Seems a bit too high, IMO. If it is worth that much money, they need to recode the script and get better servers. Google gets as much traffic and works just fine. MySpace constantly delivers errors, delivers poor results, is slow, and even flippin' disabled the find a friend feature in your top friends so now choosing top friends is a pain in the ass because you can't search the pages!
LOL true. I keep forgetting the peso isn't quite so worthless as it used to be. I still think of it being like when I was younger, and it was like 47 bazillion pesos to the dollar.
I think the owner of Craigslist sounds liek a nice person, good luck to his site even thoughits heaps basic, but it does the job I guess. he shoudl market it better in my country australia imo...their is deffiantly a user base down here for ir.
well i never had the idea to look for a casual sex partner at craiglist (whats the name of this categorie btw?), but they have a lot more to offer. its all about classifields, garage sales, rooms for rent and stuff like that. the design looks still like "my second try on frontpage", but i think it could be an advance to not overload it with shiny buttons, banners, boxes and animated gifs. this site is only 6,75 KB and damm fast, ebay.com has a 12kb source plus 571kb(!!!) gfx and needs 7 seconds here. must be a good time now, when i tried to add an item last time it took always more than 20sec to load each page...
I post real estate freely. craigslist is the best place to deal with people locally. It's ebay for things that are hard to mail.
Alexa rankings dont mean anything. Alexa Judges a site by how many User's with their Toolbar go on your site so you could be gettin 10k a day and still be around 700,000 because not many people use the tool bar on your site.
Actually ebay owns 25% of craigslist now, One of his old employess sold out http://www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=3394631 Or the last paragraph of the link above Craigslist is 25 percent owned by eBay after one of the shareholders who helped to set up the site in the 1990s sold his stake in 2004. Newmark declines to specify exactly who owns the remaining shares. And Craigslist rocks , I have found all my houses to rent , furniture and so much more on that place. People sell good - used stuff on there and its local as well
They're valueing it based on the estimated worth of profile information. That valuation is going to come plummetting down once they realize how many duplicate and fake profiles there are.
I need Rob's crackpipe of handle an0n to understand these figures Thats great after a couple of puffs. it seems this thread is talking about a lot of money Oh well, back to the pipe for me
When people try to play values on these sites, it's total BS, because they forget the fundamental idea that it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
