I cloned the script found on http://whoreme.com/train/ I am selling the script. $5.99 : single server license, single owner $19.99 : resell rights, unlimited users license, unlimited servers license DEMO: http://train.w57.net/index.php PM if your intersted.
Still selling the script. Since people are asking about this: The script comes as is for the prices listed. I will install for an extra fee of $20. I will customize for an extra fee of $40.
This is the whoreme.com admin. Stop selling anything that resembles our script immediately. Anyone who buys it will be using our design and layout without authorization -- not to mention a cheap ripoff of our script. You can see the real thing here http://www.whoreme.com/train . Please talk to US if you like our script. Chris admin *at* whoreme.com
Hehe, pretty ironic with the whole MySpace legal issues going on right now eh Indra? But I'm not sure how you'll be able to stop people from copying the function of a script. I *really* wouldn't have bumped this thread back up, as it was already over a week old before you posted in it.
i could care less of the function of the script... everyone's trains and myspace-related websites are basically copies of everyone elses, however some of us are more graceful about it. My point is, why not simply make a different design and therefore a new 'unique' train, instead of spending time on a functional script (which i found has many flaws we've overcome) and still copy a design, rather than just make a new design to go with it? imitation is flattering but selling it is just a little annoying.
Hmm, you can't stop him from selling it - as it is not your script. Sure it uses your layout, but they can just redesign it.
yes, you read my last post? i don't care about the SCRIPT... it's the design... they can and SHOULD redesign it, not use ours. Even if it's a saturated 'market' be a little creative, that is ALL i'm saying.
Indra has a very valid point, the design is most definately stolen. Plus it would take very little effort just to change the html on how its displayed.
Indra... I'm interested in buying your script and redesign it and work with you, if you will sell it to me. I run a myspace tools shop so it would come in handy although I'm a little concerned with all the minors I see on myspace. I have a gut feeling that they are FBI traps to lure predators and unsuspecting adults who "interact, exchange messages with or talk to" minors online. When I used a whore me bulletin, I got 14 year olds emailing and commenting me. That's scary because when bulletins go out like the ones I've seen with pornographic comments, it wouldn't take much for that 14 year old's irate mother to sue and create a stink. The way things are going, I think they should up the age to 18+. If they lie about their age, then tough. But right now, I refuse to even reply to anyone whose profile says 14-17, even if it is to say, hi, thanks for the comment. The interaction between adults and minors is scary and the whore trains have a lot of mixed ages. So on my whore train script i'd put a disclaimer: designed for persons 18+. That way, if minors use it, that's their problem, hopefully. - P.S. myspace.com should also provide a feature to delete users en mass. For example, I'd like to be able to delete all users 17 and under from my list of friends. A much needed feature they don't have. Also the ability to delete anyone who doesn't have a photo. Their script needs a little work. Also, their captcha drives me nuts. Why have that? If the limit is say 500 adds a day, they should just activate captcha at 499 to save users the annoyance, don't you agree?
blissallstar, the price is $145 not 195, and what you're paying for is not a ripped off design and partially working script. you're paying for a proven platform that does what it's intended to, unlike your script, all of the flaws and potential pitfalls of running such a rapidly accessed script have been refined... how does well does you script handle a ddos attack? or a bot that is trying to post users every half a second? it's not just the look, there has actually been work put into the script. and personally i found a few flaws in yours.. BUT the internet is as of now a free medium, and i quite enjoy it that way, so carry on whatever you will, but eventually if this is the way you do business something might bite you in the ass... my suggestion, wear sturdier pants. Cheers - isuccess, you have valid points there, myspace is far from perfect, but perhaps that's why it got so big so fast, because of all the uncontrolled kids on there who don't care how well it actually works. As far as adults are concerned however, if we accept any contact with a minor, i suppose their parents COULD try to do something to us, but given that these kids have to accept myspace terms of service -- and if i remember correctly, myspace does ask if you're 18, at least when i signed up, they already forfeited their case because the kid illegally accepted a contract with myspace and therefore gave up any protection it is intended to create for either party -- that is, unless the parents can prove that you were being lewd with their child, then it's a whole different ball game, but if you don't delete your messages often, can be proven otherwise. Personally, under normal use, i wouldn't worry because on there i don't do anything i wouldn't do in real life, and that's hold a conversation with a 14 year old for example.
DDoS is an attack against the server and the script would do just fine as it disconnects from the mysql after it connects. Other then that it is just like loading a regular webpage. Yep, the time that a user is allowed to post to the site has been changed to every minute not handled with javascript, but with server side session's. I noticed you talk about flaws, but have not pointed out any examples. So, please do tell so those "flaws" can be either fixed or professed for all to see.
you win the battle of no opposing sides my friend. best of luck to you with your business "venture". btw, flaws are not so much errors, as they are shortcomings. but you seem intelligent, perhaps someday you can come up with ways to achieve your ends without 'cloning' other peoples work.
Hey guys, I bought the script and am trying to use it. It's not working but I think you two could be friends. Cloning or no cloning, it looks like a simple script to me but I don't know much. All I know is that instead of adding people inside myspace, pressing the all aboard says :bulletin deleted: and a person can add himself/herself several times on the main page and I have 5 clones of the same person. Not good. Any feature to delete duplicates, a cron job or something? That's sad. I can't afford the $145 so I have to take down the site. I tried to change the looks so it is not a copy of the original one which is only fair. Sorry to post this here. I'm depressed now. I will drink some vodka and take some sleeping pills over this script. Just kidding. Well, it ain't working and I don't know what to do. Thanks for the pointers about the minors. I bought 2 of the whoreme programs. Thanks. They work fine. Captcha and all.
Small fix for those that bought the script. http://train.w57.net/thefix.txt Was informed that myspace was deleteing the bulletin's after someone added themself to the train. Well, found out that myspace didn't close a </form> properly and was causing the script to delete the bulletin post if you tried adding someone yourself. The about fix is only for the <textarea> line in the script. Replace the entire <textarea> link with the above line. Make sure the entire line is one on a single line.
