I am planning to launch a myspace resource site. A) Can putting myspace in the URL become a legal issue? We don't want trouble if the site becomes popular. B) If we do not put myspace in the URL, but put all types of myspace resources (backgrounds, layouts, etc) in the site, is there any chance that myspace can create any issue? Thank you for your guidance.
yea, they said before that they wanted to get rid of all sites with the words myspace in them, but i have a few and so do other people and they are not doing nothing about it. Tom is just trying to keep his site up lol, power outages and such things are occuring around his server area.
I think that he didn't mean it. SIlly as it sounds. It's what regular corporations may get adviced to do, but face it: you will talk about myspace and promote them indirectly (not that he needs it though). I don't see you hurting them.
Dont have MySpace in your domain name or excessively use MySpace for your promotion, just call it MySpace stuff, dont get commercial and you will be fine IT
if you want to go huge then they might notice you but if your just gonna be a regular joe, they will not do nothing.
So do all of you advise option B, where the site name does not have 'myspace' but the content is for myspace users? So, even if our site becomes big and popular, there shouldn't be any issues from myspace. Am I correct? It is better to be on the safer side, thats what I feel.
True, but then again, you can always have a redirect if a url with myspace in it needs to be renamed.
