MySpace related sites

Lately, I've been reading some news online about MySpace taking action against websites with the word "MySpace" in its domain names. I have a few questions in response to this if anybody knows.

Does MySpace allow websites that offers resources such as scripts, pluggable video codes, etc? They should, if they somehow stop it (doubt it), then people will stop using MySpace and immigrate to another growing social networking site and everyone knows the MySpace team doesn't want that to happen.

Does MySpace allow hotlinking to their images? Websites such as whore trains and friend adding websites that grabs profile images from MySpace profiles hotlinks their image from MySpace.com. I'm sure MySpace is aware of all hotlinkers. For a third-party website with a huge load of traffic that hotlinks from MySpace a lot can arise a legal issue with MySpace?

EDIT: Also forgot, about hotlinking those profile images, MySpace shouldn't have copyright those images since they are actual user posted images that is owned by the person. If the third-party website states usage of the user's pictures, then it shouldn't be a problem but I'm not sure it works that way. Just need some clarifications.

If you have a website like www.myspacelayouts.com

they have the right to take it down -

    1. because it has the trademarked word "myspace" in it
    2. becuase its in the same market as myspace

What if the domain name is something like http://www.mylayouts.com or http://spacelayouts.com , then they can't really say they trademarked the word "my" or "space" as individuals. If being in the same market as MySpace (social networking) allows them to take action, other social networking sites that came before MySpace is allowed to take action against MySpace itself such as Friendster.

This is very old news. Myspace has not done 1 thing to any of the sites appearently infringing upon it's trademark... Myspacesupport and the rest of the sites have not had any action taken against them.
