MySpace layouts site/domains

I've decided to see if there is any interest in what I started developing for a MySpace layouts site.

The sale includes two, what I think are anyway, awesome domains for such a site. "layouts" has an OVT of 1,036,579, "codes" has an OVT of 98,441. Of course, add MySpace in there and it's even higher - but with these domains there's no risk of C&Ds. Also, think of the subdomains ... www myspace.layouts.ms ... www xanga.layouts.ms etc

At the moment, the layouts.ms domain is the only one with content. It has one page, one layout - but you see where I was heading. I have two ad blocks not yet being used, and nice adsense placement (I think).

The site, despite it's one layout, gets some SE traffic, mostly through Google and MSN. Traffic stats shown below:


It does a earn a little through adsense, as shown here (October):


The codes.ms site is empty at the moment (but is indexed for what it's worth).

My plans for the site were to create a small number of high quality layouts, like the one shown here.

You'll see that the number of hits to the site is high. THis is because I just discovered recently that another site was hotlinking my layout! The site is: http://www.hotfreelayouts.com, who seem to do the same with all other sites. Bastards.
My first reaction was to try and contact them and tell them to remove their link - because of course they have taken the code, hotlink from my server ... but have put their own links in so my site gets no benefit. Instead, I decided to amend the background graphic to include my logo =0)

So now every profile that used that layout has my site logo plastered all over it! Maybe not the best move, but hey, it's something.

Selling because I have lost interst in the MySpace site thing, though there is a lot of potential. I was thinking of branding these using the .ms as MySpace, and creating a network of sites. I have a games site with .ms also, but I'm going to try and develop that myself.


.ms domains are about $35/year registration, and these have 9 months or so left. Registered with Moniker.
