how so it works? and its simple... thats not impressive? not many sites put there url as there screen name... sadly it is effective to do so. I was been nice by telling you a way to get around it i guess in future i wont bother
That would not count as a back link. In fact, if your site sucks, there is a good chance that MySpace will actually out rank you on even the domain name ~ Especially if you are a busy little myspace poster. It CAN be used as a promotional tool, but in most cases, if someone shows up in any of my circles with a name like blahblah.com I immediately blow them off as a spammer and rarely pay attention to anything they say (even if it's worth listening too). So I guess that is a two way streak
When you post a comment on someone's myspace page, the link in your comment won't go directly to your site but will be redirected through another site. this is probably true for recently changed links on myspace pages themselves also - but I'm not going to risk testing. The point: the links still work for people clicking on them, but they count less or not at all for SEO purposes.
why MYSPACE doing that, very bad. so we dont go for myspace, we need anothers version of myspace. any body know the alternate of myspace to back links?
So MySpace could be just as effective in terms of traffic conversion to your site. The question now is...can you write an effective and interesting comment to get the reader to click through to your site? If you can not do this then you should be considering outsourcing SEO for your sites as this is a required skill to have. Especially when creating content, keyword phrases, action text, anchor text, etc, etc, etc. The only difference with the changes made at MySpace is that link juice will not be passed onto your link. Which is not much considering the amount of other links on the same page as your link.
i think myspace does not need to any backlinks. every people on the world knows the myspace and it has millions of active users they dont care backlinks
I'm happy myspace did this - I am already seeing the benefits on my social network. I've been averaging an extra 100 signup's a day sine they started it... Thanks
Agree 100%. If anything MYSPACE Just SAVED ITSELF. Now it's not a good place for spam like tactics to get free backlinks. Your average myspace enthusaist doesn' tknow what a backlink is and doesn't have a site beside "their space" which is on myspace
Myspace is still useful as a promotion tool in terms of building visibility - sure, they'll loose a few people who only care about SEO, but I agree, most 'regular' myspace users won't care, and a lot of the marketers will probably still see value in Myspace too.
They're probably quite happy to loose a few spammers (or bad SEO's) this way. That's probably why they did this too, so that people won't just post annoying comments because of that one (very low value) link on each page. But there is one business niche where this is ultimately going to make a huge difference to the competitive landscape: photobucket and places like that. They don't get their free link for every user who hosts pictures with them anymore.
Please god, let this ruin all of the myspace marketers' plans that are constantly sent to my email address and PM box! Hopefully, this is the end for the many "Earn $50,000 with Myspace!" threads.
