MySpace has ruined my idea, by blocking my domain name!

    Hi guys,

I was going to try and add some extra stuff to online stopwatch -- by having tickers and stuff that people can add to their profiles.

    BUT

Soon as i add in the domain name: http://www.online-stopwatch.com

    MySpace changes it to: http://www...-stopwatch.com

It looks like it doesnt like the word online :(

Which sucks, as theres nothing wrong with my site at all.

Any other words blocked like this??? Or anyone know a way around it?

    Cheers.

way around it? buy another domain and transfer your files over. It would be better too to have a domain without -.

Nice idea.. I bookmarked it. I suggest that you drop the dash and if possible a slightly shorter name.
BTW why does the timer start from 30 minutes instead of zero.

Couldn't you just use a redirect from some other domain of yours? Or a lesser knows free redirect service might work as well..

Your're joking! :p The term is exactly the one i need! There is no way i could get any better, sure i "could" buy OnlineStopwatch.com but it's $4200. :(

It's taken ages to get it in the top 10 on google for the term aswell.

    Damn.

-- Also, buying another domain, i would lose all my backlinks, and the redirecting domain would get all my pagerank.

I guess i'll have to think of somthing. :(

    Cheers guys :)

Exactly the same thing happened to me on my site www.onlinebingoclub.co.uk

It is blocking the online part of that so doesn't matter if you put the word online together with something.

Surely online cant be a censored word, i checked other profiles and see it on some of them, so I am just waiting until my account is 7 days old so i can post my question on the forums.

The domains get blocked if either the domains been posted to many times in bulletins within a certain period or your it detects your bulletin as spam, has been like this for a while. Nearly all of the url shorteners/redirectors are also banned from bulletins myspace send C&Ds to everyone one they see. Buy some domains and 301 them.

Someone already said that most domain shortening services are banned. Try reading threads.

It's just the word online, myspace blocks it because of certain scripts...

If you go to leave a comment or something and you type online, it will replace it with ...

    Good luck!

Buy a domain just for myspace promote online-stopwatch everywhere else so you don't lose the work you did on your SE ranking.

Yeah it's the strangest thing ever. Does anyone have any idea why "online" is blocked? I've noticed this lately...

Just redirect, it's your only option if you want to link from myspace.
