According to Jon at Wickedfire: http://www.wickedfire.com/industry-news/7460-myspace-sues-20-ad-networks-over-500-million.html MySpace is going after affiliate networks responsible for a lot of the spam bulletins that have been plaguing the MySpace Network. Whether they will be succesful is anyone's guess. Can't say I am a fan of spam, so I don't have a lot of sympathy. I just hope the impact trickles down to encompass all of those directly involved.
MySpace have been tooting that horn for a long time now, and unless there's any proof, I wouldn't really take it too seriously.
If you are a myspace user, you will understand how freakin annoying those are, you log in and there are atleast 50 bulletins which try and "phish" your password, install virus's, make you buy stupid products & sign up to stupid sites & newsletters.. the myspace community as a whole is beyond the state of frustration with this and alot of people refuse to use it purely because of the fact that its become an absolute mess. Myspace doesnt need to take "legal action" they need to fix the coding issues within the site to make themselves better & safeguards in place so these issues dont even come about!!
