Yes.... There was a message earlier that there datacenter backup generator failed and they are having a hard time getting everything back up.
Hi, I have been trying to access MySpace for awhile, and it seems to be down. How could a large site like this be down? I would expect them to have servers spread out.
failed again or was that the explanation for yesterdays outage? The site was 'ok' for most of the day but then around 4pm Central Time it started again with the funk. Now I don't even get an error message (i.e. their error splash screen).
so between Fox and all their AD revenue they can't manage to go an entire week without a minor hiccup and usually about every other month with a serious issue. maybe we need to start a donation site for them..."for only 3 cents a day, you can help them keep their shi* running"
DOA. just wait..."Folks, sorry, the lights flickered again and now we have to reboot every server, that is to say all 3 of them. We hope to be back 'online' by Tuesday"
I don't think MySpace was ever designed to hold so much trafic as it does and they've been chasing the "get everyting ready for the next traffic increase" from the get go. Getting a network like this operational after a total crash of all systems can take a LONG WHILE believe me. Though at this point I'm surprised it's down again.
I'm sure that's true on both counts (especially the former), I'll shut my yapper!! it's like the roads in some parts of TX, the ones in place are designed to handle 1/2 of the traffic that's on them today.
hope it gets fixed soon.. luckily, I don't make much $ off myspace traffic. but after reading some post on DP, some are losing major $
Is myspace actually profitable? Seems like s many dotcoms went out of business because they were unable to convert eyeballs into dollars.
I wonder how’s traffic doing on other networks, now that people need to go back to their secondary option.
