Is it risky to get a domain name with the word myspace in them. There are thousands of them out there and it seems like myspace is not doing anything about it. What do you think?

Are there any reasons not to have it?

If the content is about "myspace" the portal, it's trademark infringement. They have filed several Federal lawsuits against sites - and the more popular the site becomes, the greater your chances of getting a C&D letter. Just because other people do it, it doesn't mean it's legal.

Is it a risk? Yes. Will they catch you and take action? No one knows. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time developing a domain only to have it taken at will. They can also sue for all income the site ever generated plus damages and treble their legal fees.

Unless you want to risk potentially losing that domain & getting sued for a trademark infringement lawsuit, I wouldn't risk it

I wouldn't recommend it...some people have had to give their domains up already

Peace of mind is an important factor when you are developing a site.

Would you work with ease knowing that your domain is at risk?

If you don't mind lose both domain name and time invested on development, go ahead.

    I would not do it.

Its the same thing as buying a domain with the word "ebay" in it. I wouldn't invest much time and effort in that myspace domain of yours
