I've heard that MySpace is a good link builder website, massive link generating site too. How true is it?

Any suggestions on how to start off MySpace? Thanks

MySpace is not good as a website for direct link building, since they redirect all external links and send no google juice with them. It might be good for exposure and thereby links from other sites in the long run, but I haven't tried it myself.

NO! All links are redirects so no use whatsoever, neither is Facebook unfortunately

Hmm have you ever heard of social traffic? Myspace alone is not good enough but if you combine it with facebook, youtube, blog comments, social marker, twitter and do it in a non spamming, natural way you'd be quite surprised.

Though it takes some time for the snowball effect to have an impact on your traffic, because you have to keep on adding friends and writing comments on these sites as a daily routine.

The main rule is don't spam and don't overpromote. Just keep on adding more and more friends consistently.

It used to be great, until people spammed the crap out of it, and now they've reprogrammed it so that it serves no use whatsoever to search engines. A shame.

Myspace was good enough for some times before !!and now they are just like many others who already turned into nofollow or redirect due to nasty spam ..

That's nonsense, it doesn't work for anything, as others have said all myspace links are redirected.

How about Myspace forum and links in the signature?
Are they coming back as a backlink?

Well the links don't count for anything in the SERP's and without a large amount of effort MySpace is not the most effective marketing tool out there.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking, they used to be good until they did the External Redirect.
