Sorry if this isn't the best forum - not sure if this is a coding issue, a legal issue, a business issue, or what. Please feel free to move. Mypimpscript.com has been down for a while now. I cannot run the game I built around the script, as the license key is ZEND encoded, and it relies on their web server to confirm that I have a license and I'm running it on the correct domain. I obviously paid quite a bit of money for the license, and my game is unique - it's a space themed strat game, no mention of pimps at all & a lot of custom coding & graphics. I spent months building it... Does anyone know what the status of the company? It was a very popular script just a couple of years ago, so I don't imagine I'm the only one affected - I believe the creator used to post here. How would I stand, legally, if I could find someone who had a work-around for license confirmation? I've tried looking, of course, but it seems almost impossible to reverse engineer. Thanks for any help, Sarah
Took a bit of searching but I believe this is the owner of pimpscript here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=51419
what a horrible way to sell a product.. I hope it all turns out well.... i would hire a debugger er to sniff what is being sent by the program.. maybe its a simple "OK" being sent back that you can patch in.....
Thank you both, I've written to Shreder... I see he/she was active here just yesterday so hoping to get a reply. =) Will keep people updated.
I wrote to Shreder via the forum, he said he'd send me the unencrypted code so I could carry on using the game. Then he went silent and hasn't responded to any of my mail since then. Absolutely terrible, I missed out on a games job because I wasn't able to demostrate the game I'd coded - I'd advise that no one do business with him on his other new ventures. If anyone knows how to unencrypt (I believe it's ZEND) then maybe I can try to rescue the game.
Ok Shreder sorted it all out for me now, he was having a rough time... I have asked for the above post to be deleted - we will see...
i too have the same problem can anyone help me out as i paid 300$ for this script and ive yet to even install it!!!!
so it turns out that shreder had stolen code from the original engine and this is the reason as to why he is no longer operating, surely we can take legal action too seeing as most of us like myself have forked out almost 300$ for code we no longer have access to. Any information would be much appreciated.
