Hey folks, I've created myhairlossprevention.com, built links quite intensively but not too fast so as not to send off red flags. It was awarded a PR5 in the last update but now I need to know if I need to do anything more for it to rank well for hair loss prevention and hairloss prevention. It's not even in the top 6 pages which confuses me. I'm new to the SEO game and would like some advice on whether or not I just need patience now or have I missed something. The pages are heavily optimised. Any help appreciated Thomas Baxter
How have you been anchoring your back links? What I suggest is always use your keywords for your anchor text!
Make sure you get plenty of backlinks with your targeted keyphrase as anchor text. To do this you can buy links, write articles and submit them to directories, or link exchange.
The best tips I can give you are to not focus on Toolbar PR so much, and to spend time at sites such as http://www.seo-news.com.
Thanks for the tips guys. I just want to know if I'm doing things right as this site along with a couple of others I've started doesn't even rank anywhere in MSN or YAHOO and I've heard of people who have sites that rank after a week. Just let me know thanks
Where does every1 buy their links from? I've seen linkadage etc but I mean should I buy 4 links a month for $50 each, 100 dollars each or what? So new to all this its got me bamboozled. Are you in a google sandbox when your site starts and after the link aging thing kicks in you start to rank? if you could look at myhairlossprevention.com can you give me any advice on what I could change to make it rank? Also on another note my site www.livesportstv.co.uk used to rank quite highly for watch live football but now its the 1st term on page 2. I've added a blog to my site which links from the main page. I update this once a week. Will this help my rankings increase? tom
PR isn't the same thing as SERP. Get Anchor links. It's 5% Onsite Optimization, and 95% Offsite Optimization.
Okay thanks guys, on the other note: my site www.livesportstv.co.uk used to rank quite highly for watch live football but now its the 1st term on page 2. I've added a blog to my site which links from the main page. I update this once a week. Will this help my rankings increase? tom
i think you give your answer. you must continue build backlinks with slowly and adding more pages to your site. you will get better serp result with time
In order to rank highly for those keywords you would need a good amount of links from a bunch of authority sites (especially on Google). Not just sites with high pagerank but hair loss sites that have been around for years and that have old links from other trusted authority sites. Most of your links seem to be coming from link building direct's one way linking service. I've used a service like that in the past (4 or 5 of them at once). It worked in Yahoo and MSN but I got almost no traffic from Google. My "success" was very short lived (a few months). The conversion rates weren't that good either. I don't know for sure but those kind of links probably leave a footprint in google. Google won't penalize you for one way links but they probably won't reward you either once they catch on.
Make sure you build backlinks over time and be careful when buying text links, if you can't afford to pay the bill one month and Google sees a bunch of links going to your site dissappear then you can be in big trouble. Setup a daily routine, get 10 directory links, 10 recipricols, do 5 forum posts and 5 blog posts. It will soon stack up. Another idea is to hire people to build backlinks for you. Get yourself onto the 'social' sites like Squidoo/HubPages and link back to your site. If you have a bit of money to throw around try work out a deal with other high ranking informational based hair loss websites, either buy their website or buy some web space on their site where you can post your own articles about hair loss.
Hey guys, this site now has around 1500 backlinks and building with more coming every day yet the site still isnt ranking anywhere in any of the search engines. Am I just being impatient or have I done something wrong? The site's optimised for hair loss prevention and i'd even like a 51-60 rank just now. tom

The site has been optimized but you need to work on building links as well Have you tried article marketing?
