I recently registered accommodationspain.co with MyDomain.com along with other domain names. When I tried to register my own nameservers, I got an Error 500. When I tried to change my DNS settings to point to my server, I got a success message but still the domain name was pointing to their servers with their advertising page! I contacted them by email first with the error code, their reply was an automated reply telling me how to register nameservers, which I already know how to. I replied to that email without any reply. I called them on the phone and the connection was terrible, breaking up. I called again and managed to speak to an operator who promised to get the problem resolved and I would receive an email shortly. 24 hours later, no email and still could not change my DNS settings, same error when trying to register new nameservers. I called again, and the operator created a so called internal ticket and told me that someone would look at it straight away as we speak. 10 hours later, still nothing and still the same error and still my homepage showing Dotster adverts, keywork related adverts to Spanish property! I called again and gave them the ticket number, a different operator was very rude and all he could say was "So 1o hours?, it can take up to 72 hours for our techs to even look at your ticket!". I told him that obiously the last operator was lying about having someone looking at the ticket "as we speak". The operator hung up! I called back and threatened them with a report about this to ICANN as all the new operator said was that the ticket is in the queue and it will take 72 hours to look at it! The operator said, "Ok, go ahead and report us!" Just like they didnt care! Today, nothing, same errors and no response from anything. I have tried to call, there is now no answer, I was on hold for 18 minutes and then 29 minutes and just now, a further 20 minutes, costing me money in calls for nothing. I have sent more tickets all day and no reply. I have now contacted ICANN but that doesnt look good. I have paid for a domain name and Dotster / Mydomain have full control over it and will not let me use it because their system has a major fault. There is no customer support for me and I can´t even transfer the domain out to my other registrar as it is younger than 6 months, so I can not get an AUTH code. Has anyone got any idea on what steps I can make to get this issue resolved, it is now 3 days since I had successfully registered the domain name. Thank you.
I will say this much. I actually got a letter in the mail from that company today, I am not affiliated with them, nor, have never purchased a domain from them. this leads me to believe that they are pinching details from domains that have been registered, and sending mail to try and market their service. I wouldnt trust them as far as I could throw them.
I still havent been able to register my own nameservers so I will now have to continue pointing my domain to their nameservers and use their domain redirect tools. I hate doing this and believe that they just want control over all the domains that they can get hold of! I have tried calling again, but it looks like they have my number, so I am on hold for 25 minutes and more, no answer. No emails replies, no contact, nothing! I hope ICANN read this thread.
