So today MyBBoard.net became MyBB.com. You can read my full experience about this at my blog. http://www.vbum.com/2010/05/mybb-project-purchases-mybb-com/ Enjoy everyone. I think it's great news for the project.
Yeah, it really is great news for the MyBB team. Hopefully, this will bring in some more exposure to this project. The exposure it deserves.
Well, this is good news for the mybb project. At the very least, it makes the mybb community look more professional by having the domain name that goes along with the software. And, I'am glad that yall got the name at a good price.
well frankly speaking wont make much diffrence yes it looks proffesional but once a site is settled any domain is ok..
I'm glad that this has been sorted before the next release. Just one question though, how long do you think it's going to take before mybb.com hits the no.1 SERP for the keyword mybb? is this one of the new goals?
exactly!! I also think it will increase it's popularity. @bohra atleast for people like me (i'm just know a bit more than a noob ), it makes much difference.
Check this news out. Dreamhost used MyBB for their official forums this week and had posted some very positive comments about the software. People should take notice. http://discussion.dreamhost.com/thread-126704-page-1.html
that should be a great leap forward branding the company. we like to see some great competition in forum software
mybb is a nice forum system, looks similar to vbulletin, so people tend to like it installed it several times for customers.
MyBB 1.6 is being release LGPL which will allow it to be always available and even a commercially viable project for those working to make some cash from paid work like plugins or themes. IMHO this will probably attract a more professional crowd. Current license is GPLv3 which makes it near impossible to have commercial viability with the project.
