Mybb 1.8 Alpha Available To The Public

    On January 23rd, the MyBB team announced that all of their code would be available via GitHub, including the 1.8 alpha code. I've just started using it and have set up a test/demo board to play around with.

    If you're interested in playing around with the alpha, you can use my test board if you'd like. It's located here: http://themacforum.net/mybb18/

    I may consider giving administrative access out if you want to play with the admin panel. Just send me a PM!

    Yes, now its available via github to public.. A new css and jquery based theme is introduced along with few new features... :)

    It is planned for future, i guess development not yet started.

    I was expecting 2.0 development to happen simultaneously as the 1.x branch. I guess they're waiting on Yii 2.0?

    Yes, Yii framework will be used in 2.0. For now developers are busy with 1.8 development after releasing 1.8 gold they will focus on 2.0

    I can't wait to get to 2.0. I might just start a forum up now and build it up, just to have it ready for the 2.0 release.

    2.0 doesn't even have a planned release date. From a consumer's point of view, most of 2.0 is up in the air.
