My Yucca Tree, need advice.

The other day I just bought a Yucca tree (well two Yuccas to be exact).

They are not very big, one is about 30cm tall (1') and the other is about 60cm tall (2') so I planted them together in a large clay pot.

I want to keep them indoors since it's too cold for them outside and I was wondering is anyone else has a Yucca tree that is doing well indoors?

Since I bought it for decoration, I don't plan on keeping in the window... I'm afraid it might not get enough light where it is (and die). I have a halogen floor lamp directly above the plant and hope to supplement it's light requirement this way, any opinions?

    Pete

You need a 300 watt grow bulb or greater. That halogen light won't do anything for it.

I love Yuccas. I used to have one in my apartment. It needs light or it will go a little limp on you. I gave mine indirect light from a sliding glass door near the kitchen and it seemed to do just fine - though it was a lot happier out on the balcony. Artificial light, I don't think, is enough. I'd at least put it outside (or underneath a window) sometimes to give it some real light. they seem to respond a lot better that way.

Thanks for the advice. I think I might have to occationally move into the window to help keep it alive... winter is coming so the balcony is not an option. :(

As it is, it gets SOME indirect light but not much. My living room has EASTERN facing windows so the sun shines until 2pm, after that it's too dark. Every other room in the apt has a southern or western facing window and is flooded with light all day long, go figure.
