    I found that my yahoo search traffic is down 50%, I also found that they last processed my sitemaps on October 2006, Please help so that I can increase search traffic. I was looking at Yahoo Site Explorer..

    Also please suggest, if is there could exist some problem with my sitemaps , due to which Site's traffic is low? Is there need for some modification in the sitemaps or what are the ideal conditions to be added in the sitemaps...

    Thanks ..:)

    It may be down lower than 50% I've noticed this for quite some time.
    Google is getting stronger and yahoo is getting weaker.

    If you site map hasn't been processed since 2006, you need to fix that! Make sure it's up to date and contains the latest pages and then resubmit it to Yahoo, using site explorer (what about resubmitting to Google aswell).

    After that, you just have to sit tight and do all of the usual optimisation stuff such as maximising backlinks, improving / changing content.

    Why do you mention only your Yahoo search traffic? Is the Google search traffic showing a similar trend? Google represents 60-80% of all internet searches, so it stands to reason that you should spend 60-80% of your effort in optimising for Google.

    @jonbuoy

    Thanks a lot for suggestions,

    Actually I checked with my server, I found that robot.txt file is there on root directory with following content:

    # robots.txt for search engines

    User-agent:*
    Disallow: /cgi-bin/

    It would be greatful it u pls give some guideline and more suggestion on execution of "usual optimisation stuff such as maximising backlinks, improving / changing content"

    Yes, Only Yahoo Search traffic is down 50%, whereas Google search traffic is very fine and I am finding good results as my Google Adwords account for the site...

    I think if it is the case that my sitemap is not posted properly Yahoo Site Explorer???? Actually i do have sitemap, but is there something that has to intimated to Yahoo about Sitemap, which I might not posted????

    Thanks in Advance :)

    For my site, there is a decrease in traffic from yahoo too. So I guess you are not alone.

    Check whether your rank in search results have dropped or not.
