Well you're obviously screwed. Have you answered any SCAM emails that asked for your personal details or email passwords? Have you done answered any SCAMS in Facebook that might have asked for your email account accesses?

In case of a hacked account send a mail describing your problem to . If this doesn't help, call Yahoo: 1-408-349-1572, explain to a customer service person what happened. They will ask you to do certain things and then they compare your original info with the changed info. Within 24 hrs you should get your account back!

Do you use Facebook? It could be something to do with 100m users' data being published on the internet, so if you use the same passwords for more than one account... and someone was able to do a little guesswork thanks to the FB info...

Learn to make a good and strong password. I think you got a hidden keylogger!

Keyloggers, data spills, no one has suggested that perhaps their password was easy to guess? Did you have it set to something related to your personal life? (Pet name, birthday, etc.) Was your "secret question" one of those? Have any of your contacts been asking about your personal life lately?

My guess is if you are 100% sure it wasn't a keylogger after doing scans, it may have been social engineering. We can't rule out a bot guessing passwords either though.

Most likely a keylogger is to blame, don't see it happening any other way.

first I want to express how much I hate yahoo, I thought my email account was hacked recently, but actually yahoo deactivated it for "abuse" wow. I've called the headquarters and support, it turns out abuse department doesn't operate via phone, only email, so I've submitted tons of requests, only to be autoresponded to death. To top it off, I had some quite expensive software licensed to that email, which cannot be recovered now....live and learn, don't use yahoo

It may be happen many times. When we have used same user id and password for many social media or networking site. Some web site show every information and then any body can access your account or hack. Now, you can mail yahoo support.

In my point of view you can stop hacking when you know how to hack...

I am honestly so tired of everything being hacked every single day.

I think I have to start deleting and backing up my yahoo email now.

I'm just curious why it was hacked. Do you have any important files in that account?if not you may just create another account and try to be very cautious next time. :) hope it helps. :)
