My WP blog posts sometimes show up in Google within minutes

I've noticed that sometimes when I do a blog post, it will show up in Google almost immediately... or at least within a few minutes. Other times it won't show up for a day or so.

Has anyone else noticed this before? I use a sitemap plugin for WordPress and think maybe that speeds things up?

Or...maybe it is all random?

lol... well, I should put "wannabe" on the front of my name....

 

my blog posts show up almost within 2-3 minutes within my posting them..When i search for the string of keywords i used...However, when i select a single keyword out of the ones in the posts i am pretty far back on the list. I cant master getting ranked on the first page in google for 1 keyword only....

Either way, getting listed that fast may have something to do with the sitemap plugin...I use one too...It also depends on where you are pinging your blog, as google may be picking up the link for another site it followed from.

 

I wouldn't worry about getting ranked for one word too much...do you ever search with just one word? (Yes I know people do, and then they usually refine their search)

 

For one of my sites the 2 most popular keywords are 1 word...

plus think about wallpaper sites...how often is "wallpaper" or "wallpapers" searched for?

or lyrics?

or games?

there is a long list of very popular 1 word keywords

 

I would never type just one word. Then you always get Wikipedia, you tube, google images in the first three positions...
